- Luneta City Park
Centrally located between the bustling city hall, the San Nicolas' College compound and the city cathedral, the park features a tree house, pavilion, a huge sun-dial, a children's playground and lots of beautiful plants and flowers, of course. It's an idyllic resting and recreation place for the young and old alike. The array of ornamental plants bordered by age-old, prewar Acacia trees lay mute witness to this meeting place of people from all walks of life.
- Mabua Beach
Thirty minutes by land westward from the city is this kilometer-long stretch beach made up of fine round stones. Laden with parallel lines of native cottages set in the natural backdrop of coconut-tree-laced hills and deep cool waters, the place is ideal for swimming, wind-surfing, jetskiing or simply lying in wait for the occurrence of its dramatic sunset. It has rock formations which serve as natural diving boards for swimmers and it's located near a precipice, ideal for amateur mountain climbers.
- Public Market
The Surigao City Public Market offers a big choice of goods like fish, rice, vegetables, meat, fruits etc.
- Mount Carmel
A picturesque farm resort featuring several public swimming pools. It's located a few kilometers away from the city at Barangay Poctoy
- Maharlika Beach Resort and Training Center
One of the prime convention and training centers in the city that offers best accomodation and facilities. It allows a magnificent view of Surigao Strait and some of the outlying islands of the city.
- Sabang Beach
Next beach west of Surigao, with its kilometer long black sand shore. Reachable by tricycle in 10 minutes (P 10), it is the beach most popular with the Surigao town folks. Food and drinks are available on Sundays.
- Punta Bilar Beach
12km Northwest of Surigao, 30-40 minutes by tricycle (P 50-60). A rocky beach with clear waters that are good for snorkeling.
- Lipata Ferry Terminal
The Lipata Ferry Terminal in Surigao City serves as Mindanao's gateway to the Visayas and Luzon.
- Provincial Capitol Surigao Del Norte
Casa Reál in Surigao City is the governors residence that dates back to the Spanish era. There is a century old replica of the Liberty Bell at the capitol site.
- Provincial Capitol Park
The province also promotes itself as a tourist destination focused on nature based and historical. One can visit the unflappable Provincial Capitol Park which serves as a breathing space for souls who want to simmer down from an hour of work, and a rendezvous for lovers who want to share their intimate moments together. It has also an Aviary which provide a sanctuary for protection and procreation of the indigenous and exotic bird species found within the vicinity of the province.
If one wants to commune with his creator then he he must visit the Provincial Capitol Chapel, a pictureque chapel with an amazing landscape and magnifien cascading grotto of ou Lady of Loures.
- Surigao City Airport
Years ago Surigao City was only served by small airplanes run by "Asian Spirit Airlines" which is no longer existing. Now it's much more comfortable to reach Surigao as "Philippine Airlines" (PAL) flies between Manila and Surigao City while "Cebu Pacific" serves the route from and to Cebu.

- Santo Niño Shrine
The shrine is situated at Ceniza Heights, 4km from the city proper. It's a quiet place that offers a nice view of Surigao City.
- Sagisi Island
A tropical island paradise of white sand beach, deep blue sea waters and shades from lofty coconut trees, Sagisi offers the perfect hideaway to enjoy the sun, the sand and the sea. The island's coral reef teeming with lushly preserved marine life also provides enthusiasts one of the excellent diving sites ever known in the Philippines. Sagisi is accessible by boat in about one hour from the city proper.
- Buenavista Cave
Located at Barangay Buenavista, Hikdop Island, 45 minutes by pumpboat from the city is this enchanting cave. The interior stone formation depicts the illusionary image of a grand King's Court complete with inner chambers complemented by picturesque stalactites and stalagmites. The highlight of the journey down the cave with its unique stone formations, is the kee-deep pond situated in one of its innermost caverns resembling a throne.

- Capalayan Waterfalls
A 40 feet high waterfall which can be reached by a 15 minute hike and trek from the Barangay proper. One can experience the audible trembling and roaring sound of the waters in the area.
- Songkoy Cold Spring
Outside the town, when following National Highway in direction to Butuan, you get to Tubod. At its barangay San Pablo there's an attraction only insiders know: a natural "swimming pool" inside the woods.
- Cantiasay - San Pedro Bridge
Surigao's version of the famous San Juanico Bridge, this wooden footbridge is the country's longest at 391 meters. Originally conceived to ease movement and communication between two towns, the bridge through time has transformed itself into a resting and promenade area, giving one the exhilarating experience and thrill of crossing two islands on foot.
- Silop Cave
A unique cave with 12 entrances one of which has a cool and crystal clear spring. It is accessible by a 30 minutes ride from the city proper either by tricycle or multicab.
- Manjagao Mangrove Forest
The cradle of marine life and sanctuary of various species of fish, the mangrove forest is one of nature's most interesting habitat. A boat ride along the naturally-carved water channels amidst the jade-colored lush of mangrove trees and visible coral undergrowth, is an island tropical treat one rarely experience.
- Punta Kalabera
It's a unique skull-like formation that is perfectly carved through time by nature. Accessible by motorized pumpboat in 45 minutes from the city port.
- Punta Baluarte
Brgy. San Jose, Surigao City. It is a historical landmark which was used as observatory point by the Spanish friars and later by the Japanese during the Second World War. It is a hill overlooking the town and the surrounding waters and islands, which to date is simply marked by a maroon castle replica. Complementing the landmark is the brightly colored kiosks along the beach which provide an ideal picnic and resting area. Punta Baluarte is about one hour by pumpboat from the city proper.
- Danawan Island
This rich fishing ground is 45 minutes away by pumpboat from the city proper. The island was the site of an internatiol game fishing competition in 1989. Varies shapes and sizes of different marine life abound in the area and shell aficionados often go there to collect rare shells.
- Basul Island
It is the nearest islet from Surigao City characterized by fine white sand on one side and rugged rocky shore on the other side. It can be reached by motorized pumpboat in 30 minutes from the city port in northwest direction. It is notable for its beaches with empty shells and corals. From this island, which guards the entrance to Surigao Channel, the Surigao Strait can be seen, site of the 1944 battle between the US Seventh Fleet led by Admiral Oldendorf and the Japanese Imperial Navy led by Admiral Nishimura.
- Day-Asan
The "floating" village of barangay Day-asan is a unique and interesting sight to experience, with the village houses erected on wooden stilts and bedded rocks and people commuting by paddle boats through waterways. A boat ride around the village is indeed an enriching experience and a look into these people whose lifestyles have made their village earned the monicker of being the Venice of Surigao. The village is accessible by land or sea in about 30 minutes from the city.
- Lisondra Rock Formation
Barangay Lisondra. Surigao City. This rock islet is best defined by the ranges of its unique, natural rock formations, solidly and concretely enhanced by the different variations of its colors and shades. Opposite is another isolated vase-like rock formation complementing this somewhat mysterious creation of nature, which was a burial ground of the early inhabitants of the surrounding islands. It only takes a 40-minute boat ride to reach this unique rock formation coming from the city proper.
- Surigao Memorial Park
From the park, about 7km from the city proper, one has a nice view on Surigao's harbor and the off-shore islets.
- Del Carmen
Del Carmen Swamps - Known as the rarest and one of the biggest mangrove forest the Philippines and a sanctuary of the endangered crocodylus porosus, the salt water crocodile. It's the cradle of marine life and sanctuary of various species of fish, the mangrove forest is one of nature's most interesting habital. A boat ride along the naturally-carved water channels amidst the jade-colored lush of mangrove trees and the visible rich coral undergrowth, is an island tropical treat one rarely experience.
- Pearl Farm
Their beauty and luster made them one of Surigao's prized dollar earners. To experience the underwater scenery of its marine culture is as enchanting as the movement of the live corals of its environment. A natural aquarium of incomparable beauty, the farm is the pride of Barangay Nabago, 30 minutes by land or by sea from the city proper.
